Republic of Ireland appoint Heimir Hallgrimsson as head coach | Football News

Heimir Hallgrimsson has been announced as the new Republic of Ireland men’s head coach, ending an eight-month search.

Hallgrimsson is former head coach of Iceland, and joint-manager of the side that famously beat England at Euro 2016.

Ireland have been looking for a new head coach since Stephen Kenny departed upon the expiration of his contract last November. John O’Shea took interim charge of the side for their two March internationals.
