IND vs BAN: Watch – Rohit Sharma Fumes As Fan Stops Play In Pune

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma captained the side well in match 17 of the ICC World Cup 2023 against Bangladesh. The skipper, however, was seen fuming as well at one passage at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

The incident happened during the 28th over of the game when Ravindra Jadeja was about to bowl his first ball of the over. Someone from the crowd moved past the sight screen and that forced batter Mushfiqur Rahim to pull away.

This made captain Rohit Sharma angry. He was seen lashing at the spectator. The video of the incident went viral on the internet. Here’s the clip:

Coming to the match, India comfortably thumped Bangladesh by 7 wickets. Based on the terrific bowling performance by Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja, they restricted the opposition to 256 runs. With the bat then, Rohit Sharma (48) was at his aggressive best yet again. He added 88 runs for the opening partnership with Shubman Gill (53) and gave his team a rollicking start.

After that, Virat Kohli smashed a magnificent ton and ended with a score of 103* runs. KL Rahul (34*) supported him as India won the game by 7 wickets to register their fourth consecutive win of the ICC World Cup 2023.

IND vs BAN: “It was a good win, something we were looking forward to,” Says Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma also talked about the win and said that it was a good win for them as a unit. He lauded the team for the overall performance and elaborated:

“It was a good win, something we were looking forward to. We didn’t start well, but the guys pulled it back in the middle-overs and at the back-end. Our fielding has been superb in all these matches, it’s something that’s in your control, you can put in your best effort.

“The bowlers were smart enough to understand what lengths to bowl. Jaddu was brilliant with the ball and the catch, but you can’t beat a hundred. Everyone in the squad has gone through pressure, the crowd is coming in big numbers, the stands are full, they haven’t disappointed us, they’ve been brilliant and I’m sure they’ll be louder and louder as we move on.”

India will next be seen in action when they will take on New Zealand on Sunday (22nd October) in Dharamsala.
