The Sri Lankan cricket team are grappling with numerous injuries within their camp during the ongoing ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 in India. Skipper Dasun Shanaka is reportedly ruled out of their upcoming match against Australia in the marquee tournament.

Sri Lanka, the ICC World Cup qualifiers’ champions, have had a disappointing run in their first few matches in the showpiece tournament. The Lankan Lions suffered a 102-run loss against South Africa in Delhi. They also failed to defend a 344-run target against Pakistan in Hyderabad.

Dasun Shanaka Ruled Of Match Against Australia – Report

Sri Lanka‘s captain Dasun Shanaka is dealing with an injury before the match against Australia. He missed the practice session at Lucknow Stadium. As per reports, the Sri Lankan skipper will be unavailable for the next match against Australia due to injury concerns.

Sri Lanka sports journalist Danushka Aravindra confirmed that Shanka is unavailable for selection for the upcoming match. He wrote, “Sri Lanka Skipper Dasun Shanaka will not available for Next match against Australia due to injury Concern.”

The Sri Lanka cricket team will face the Pat Cummins-led team in their third match at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Monday, October 16. The match is crucial to improving their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals, given their losses in the two games.
