Rohit Sharma, Babar Azam React To India’s 7-0 Record Against Pakistan In World Cups

India National Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma and Pakistan National Cricket Team captain Babar Azam have reacted to the 7-0 winning streak of the Men In Blue against the Men In Green in the ODI World Cups.

The reactions from the skippers came ahead of the high-voltage India vs Pakistan ICC World Cup 2023 encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 14.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Rohit Sharma was asked about India’s 7-0 winning streak against Pakistan in ODI World Cups and he responded:

“I am not a person who looks at all such stats. We focus on how we can play good cricket.”

Rohit also said that there are no favorites for the high-octane clash and both teams will start fresh. He said:

“Both the teams will start fresh. I don’t think there’s any favourite. For us, it is important to focus on what we want to do and carry the momentum forward.”

All these streaks are made to be broken – Babar Azam

Just like India skipper Rohit, Babar Azam doesn’t focus on past records and he said that the streaks are made to be broken. He was also confident that his team would perform well in the upcoming matches of the tournament.

“I believe there is no point focusing on whatever has happened in the past. I believe we need to focus on what is ahead of us,” he said.

“All these streaks are made to be broken. God willing, we will try to give our best tomorrow. Anything can happen on the day. I fully believe my team has done well in the first three matches, and will continue doing so in the coming matches.”

Pakistan defeated India for the first time in the 20-over World Cup in 2021, but they are yet to beat the Men In Blue in 50-over World Cups. The arch-rivals recently faced each other in the Asia Cup 2023 where the first match between the teams was washed out due to rain and in the second match, the Rohit Sharma-led side hammered Pakistan.
